About Us

The Baltimore-Kawasaki Sister City Committee (BKSCC) is a founding member of Non-profit organization, Baltimore Sister Cities, Inc. BKSCC was established in 1979 by Mayor Donald Schaefer when he cemented a sister city relationship between the port city of Kawasaki, Japan and the port city of Baltimore. BKSCC has been productive in a variety of city-to-city cultural programs that support the ongoing relationship between these two major cities. In addition, BKSCC strives to offer elements of Japanese culture in a wide range of events to Baltimore residents.
